JOB TITLE: Software Engineering MTS The Software Engineering MTS joins the GUS engineering team to support the internal grand-unified system for agile work tracking used by thousands of engineers. You will design, build, and operate backend services for agile tooling, including work items, planning, sprints, and reporting. Key responsibilities include building platform integrations with APIs and data pipelines, developing AI-assisted developer tooling like agents and automation, and owning features from design through production operation. You will utilize modern backend languages such as Java or Apex, working with relational databases, distributed-systems fundamentals, and cloud-native technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. The role focuses on improving engineering productivity by creating reliable, scalable solutions and intelligent workflows within a complex, large-scale codebase to streamline internal software development processes.

What you'll do

Design, build, and operate backend services for GUS agile tooling including work items and reporting.
Build and maintain platform integrations connecting GUS with Salesforce systems, APIs, and data pipelines.
Develop AI-assisted developer tooling such as agents and automation to improve engineering workflows.
Own features end-to-end from initial design and implementation through testing and production operation.
Write high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code and conduct code reviews to maintain quality standards.
Diagnose and resolve production issues while driving action plans to prevent recurrence.
Mentor engineers and contribute to the team's technical direction and engineering standards.

What we're looking for

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
3–5 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production services at scale.
Strong proficiency in a modern backend language such as Java or Apex.
Experience designing and consuming APIs and building integrations between systems.
Solid grounding in data modeling, relational databases, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
Demonstrated ability to own features end to end and deliver high-quality code in an agile environment.
Experience with AI-assisted development tooling, LLM-backed agents, or automation (preferred).
Experience building on or extending the Salesforce Platform (Apex, LWC, platform APIs) (preferred).
