Software Engineering Manager, Order Fulfillment Software Factory

What you'll do

• Write, review, and merge production code for critical-path features, complex defects, and proofs of concept.
• Design software systems and define architecture for services, APIs, event-driven integrations, and data models.
• Implement agentic AI coding tools as the default method for building, testing, and operating software.
• Translate factory strategy into clear objectives, operating plans, and technical roadmaps for the engineering team.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle including hiring, performance management, career coaching, and resource planning.
• Own team metrics and KPIs related to delivery, quality, reliability, and business outcomes.
• Lead incident response, participate in on-call rotations, and conduct postmortems to ensure operational excellence.
• Build alignment with stakeholders and manage competing demands across multiple departments and business partners.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field plus 6–9 years of relevant experience.
• 10–12 years of full-time relevant experience is accepted in lieu of the degree and 6–9 years of experience.
• At least 2 years of experience managing a team of software engineers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• At least 3 years of experience designing and architecting new and existing systems for reliability and scale.
• Current, hands-on coding proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, C#, or Kotlin.
• At least 1 year of daily hands-on use of AI coding assistants or agents in real development work.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), APIs, microservices, and modern CI/CD, code review, and source control practices.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
