Software Engineering Manager, Data Solutions & Initiatives

What you'll do

• Establish operational objectives, work plans, and delivery milestones while maintaining accountability for team outcomes.
• Define and implement engineering policies, standards, and practices across the organization.
• Drive end-to-end technical strategy and execution for multiple concurrent data and AI-driven initiatives.
• Manage headcount, budgets, and resource planning for both full-time and variable workforce members.
• Conduct architecture and design reviews to ensure high standards for scalability, security, and observability.
• Communicate progress, risks, and strategic direction to senior management and executive stakeholders.
• Recruit, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers while fostering a culture of ownership.
• Integrate AI-powered tools and practices to improve developer productivity and platform quality.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on expertise across full-stack development.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience leading teams of 8 or more engineers across multiple workstreams.
• Track record of leading team adoption of AI-assisted development practices while maintaining engineering rigor.
• Experience managing team budgets, headcount plans, and resource allocation for both FTE and variable workforce.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems design, RESTful APIs, service-oriented architectures, and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
• Proven ability to engage with executive leadership and navigate complex cross-functional situations with diplomacy.
