As a Software Engineer - Sr. Consultant level, you will join the Intelligent Commerce team to lead the design and delivery of critical platform capabilities. You will be responsible for building scalable backend platforms, APIs, and distributed systems while driving technical solutions across multiple services in collaboration with Product and Architecture teams. Your daily work involves hands-on coding, design reviews, debugging, performance optimization, and establishing best practices for reliability, observability, security, and scalability. The role requires expertise in Java or Python, along with proficiency in microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. You will solve complex engineering challenges within the intelligent commerce domain, specifically focusing on AI-enabled and agent-driven commerce experiences. You will also champion AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve developer productivity while mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions across various teams.

What you'll do

Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend platforms, APIs, and distributed systems.
Drive architecture and technical design across multiple services and components.
Manage the delivery of large, complex initiatives from initial design through production deployment.
Provide hands-on coding, design reviews, debugging, and performance optimization for platform investments.
Establish engineering best practices regarding reliability, observability, security, and scalability.
Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures and modern development practices.
Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across multiple teams.
Champion AI-assisted engineering workflows and improvements in developer productivity.

What we're looking for

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 2+ years with a PhD, or 11+ years total experience.
Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale is preferred ( for Bachelor's, 7+ for Advanced Degree, or 3+ for PhD).
Expert-level experience in Java and/or Python is preferred.
Strong expertise with microservices, APIs, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD is preferred.
Proven experience leading architecture and design for complex systems is preferred.
Experience driving delivery across multiple engineering teams is preferred.
Exposure to AI platforms, agent-driven systems, or intelligent commerce workflows is preferred.
Experience improving engineering processes, reliability, and developer productivity is preferred.
