Software Engineer III, Backend C#

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C# and .NET.
• Build event-driven applications utilizing AWS services like EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, and SNS.
• Develop high-volume batch processing systems to handle large-scale payment workloads.
• Create secure payment solutions that integrate with banking networks and third-party gateways.
• Participate in architecture discussions and lead strategic modernization initiatives for the platform.
• Perform code reviews and mentor engineers on cloud architecture and backend best practices.
• Provide production support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for critical business systems.
• Leverage AI tools to improve development productivity and operational efficiency.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 4 years of software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET.
• 2+ years of experience designing and supporting RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience building large-scale batch processing applications.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing patterns, and AWS cloud services (EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS).
• Proven experience integrating with payment processors, banking systems, ACH networks, or payment gateways.
• Experience with MySQL and SQL Server including schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve software development, testing, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft Orleans and virtual actor-based distributed systems (preferred).
• Experience building microservices architectures (preferred).
• Familiarity with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, or cloud automation tools (preferred).
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or Datadog (preferred).
• Experience working in regulated financial services or payment processing environments (preferred).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps (preferred).
• Familiarity with security best practices, authentication, authorization, and secure software development principles (preferred).
• Experience supporting high-availability systems requiring 24x7 operational support (preferred).
