As a Software Engineer III - Asset Management Research Engineer, you will join the Asset Management Fundamental Research Technology team as an experienced member of an agile squad. You are responsible for designing, developing, and troubleshooting complex technical solutions while creating high-quality production code and maintaining algorithms within a secure, stable environment. Your daily work involves producing architecture artifacts, analyzing large datasets to create visualizations, and identifying patterns to improve system architecture. You will utilize Java, React, TypeScript, Kafka, and AWS cloud services to build scalable products. Additionally, you will leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools for refactoring and testing while ensuring adherence to security standards. The role focuses on solving technical problems within the financial services domain by delivering robust software solutions that support core business objectives through modern development practices and event-driven patterns.
Utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to generate, refactor, and document code while ensuring security standards.
Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring code meets specific design constraints.
Analyze large, diverse datasets to create visualizations and reports for continuous system improvement.
Identify hidden patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and overall system architecture.
Implement event-driven patterns and manage integrations using Kafka and other modern technologies.

What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
Fluency in Java is required.
Practical front-end experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
Working experience with Kafka and event-driven patterns.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to create, validate, and refine outputs for performance and security.
Understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security), and AWS cloud services; UX/UI design and Financial Services experience are preferred.
