As a Software Engineer III - Asset Management Research Engineer, you will join the Asset Management Fundamental Research Technology team as a seasoned member of an agile squad. You will design and deliver trusted, scalable technology products by executing software solutions, maintaining algorithms, and producing architecture artifacts for complex applications. Your daily work involves creating high-quality production code, developing visualizations from large datasets, and troubleshooting technical problems. You will utilize Java, React, modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and database querying languages within a Kafka event-driven architecture. The role requires hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, CI/CD, and enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve productivity and security. You will solve technical problems by identifying patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture within a large corporate environment.

What you'll do

Design and develop secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms.
Execute technical troubleshooting and build solutions for complex technical problems.
Produce architecture and design artifacts while ensuring software code meets all design constraints.
Use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to generate, refactor, and test code.
Gather and synthesize large data sets to create visualizations and reports for system improvement.
Identify hidden patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve automation value.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments using modern programming and database querying languages.
Java fluency is required.
Practical front-end experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
Working experience with Kafka and event-driven patterns.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to create, validate, and refine outputs.
Understanding of responsible AI use, SDLC, agile methodologies (CI/CD, resiliency, security), and AWS cloud services.
Experience in UX/UI design, building user-centered interfaces, and adhering to accessibility standards (preferred).
Financial Services experience (preferred).
