What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Design and develop complex distributed systems using Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
Build and deploy cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and security protocols within the software development lifecycle.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering complex distributed system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Advanced proficiency in Java.
Practical cloud native experience designing, building, and deploying applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Advanced knowledge of Spring Boot and Kafka.
Experience in direct interactions with technology and business stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching others on safe, compliant adoption.
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and financial services IT systems.
Basic or intermediate knowledge of Python (preferred).
Experience with either Snowflake or Databricks (preferred).
