As a Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer on the OCI Compute team, you will lead the design, development, and operation of compute operability solutions to ensure the reliability and scalability of massive-scale integrated cloud services. You will build tools and automation to enhance infrastructure efficiency, manage large-scale fleet actions, oversee power management in AI datacenters, and maintain critical usage systems for billing. The role requires expertise in virtualization, containerization, or orchestration technologies like KVM, Docker, and Kubernetes. You will utilize programming languages including Go, Python, Java, or C++, alongside tools such as Grafana, Terraform, and Prometheus. Your work involves solving complex challenges in distributed systems and high-availability computing to improve system availability and reduce latency for mission-critical workloads across a global cloud footprint while mentoring junior engineers and participating in on-call rotations.
Design and implement scalable, high-performance compute operability solutions for OCI infrastructure.
Develop tools, frameworks, and automation to improve the operational efficiency of compute systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within large-scale distributed systems.
Manage power systems for new and upcoming AI datacenters.
Maintain and optimize critical compute usage systems used for OCI billing.
Improve system availability, reduce latency, and optimize resource utilization across the cloud footprint.
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 service reliability and performance.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in software engineering.
Expertise in compute operability including virtualization, containerization, or orchestration technologies like KVM, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Strong programming skills in Go, Python, Java, or C++.
Experience with large-scale system design, automation, and operational tools such as Grafana, Terraform, and Prometheus.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with data analysis.
Familiarity with cloud computing concepts including IaaS, PaaS, or serverless architectures.
Experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (preferred); contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of technical innovation (preferred).
