Software Engineer, Architecture Team

What you'll do

• Develop and optimize distributed systems and cloud infrastructure for high-traffic services like the App Store and Apple Music.
• Build scalable services, libraries, and tooling using Java and Swift.
• Analyze application architectures and workload patterns to identify and resolve system inefficiencies.
• Tune applications for performance, reliability, and cost optimization using monitoring and log analytics tools.
• Design and maintain APIs and internal libraries with a focus on dependency management and CI/CD.
• Create tools that enable other development teams to analyze and implement architectural improvements at scale.
• Author detailed solution specifications, technical diagrams, and best practices documentation for the engineering organization.

What we're looking for

• At least 5 years of industry experience in hands-on server-side development.
• Proficiency in Java with a solid understanding of the JVM and flexibility to work across other major languages.
• Experience building and maintaining highly available, scalable distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud native technologies, including deployment, monitoring, and Kubernetes container orchestration.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and libraries with knowledge of dependency management and CI/CD.
• Ability to analyze and tune applications for performance, efficiency, and cost optimization using monitoring and log analytics tools.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
