Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Efficiency joins the Software and Services team to help engineering groups understand, model, and optimize infrastructure demand across large-scale cloud services. In this hands-on technical role, you will partner with various teams to analyze complex application architectures, identify signals driving infrastructure consumption, and translate those into measurable capacity requirements. You will build scalable engineering solutions, tooling, and automation to provide visibility into resource utilization across compute, storage, network, and platform resources. You must possess proficiency in Java, Python, or Go, alongside expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and containerized environments. By establishing repeatable methodologies for demand modeling and capacity management, you will solve the business problem of balancing infrastructure efficiency with system reliability, performance, and scalability across diverse workloads.

What we're looking for
5+ years of software engineering experience developing, operating, or architecting large-scale distributed services and infrastructure.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go to design and implement production-quality systems and automation.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, data technologies, and containerized environments.
Experience using observability and telemetry, including metrics, logs, and performance data, to analyze system behavior and resource utilization.
Ability to understand complex application architectures and translate technical problems into scalable engineering solutions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build technical partnerships across engineering organizations.
Experience with infrastructure capacity planning, demand forecasting, and resource management (preferred).
