What you'll do

Design software systems and interfaces with hardware to meet RF and networking payload requirements.
Develop a strategic roadmap for team growth and mission outcomes.
Hire, mentor, and develop a diverse team of software engineers.
Lead the research, development, deployment, and operation of Leo Payload software.
Manage radio communications between satellites, ground gateways, and customer terminals.
Oversee device drivers and services for managing redundancy, operational state, and thermal status.
Collaborate with customers to refine requirements and understand technical constraints.
Manage the lifecycle of RF links and data transport over RF and optical links.

What we're looking for

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
At least 10 years of engineering experience is required.
At least 3 years of engineering team management experience is required.
At least 5 years of industry experience with Telecom, Data Plane networking, distributed systems, or similar is required.
Knowledge of full software/hardware/networks development life cycle practices including coding standards, source control, and testing is required.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams is required.
Preferred experience includes recruiting, mentoring, and managing software engineers to improve team effectiveness.
