As a Senior SoC System Level Test Product Development Engineer on the SLT-PDE team, you will drive the creation and deployment of system-level test methodologies for Apple's advanced silicon devices from early development through mass production. Your daily tasks include developing robust test programs in Python and C++, collaborating with hardware, firmware, software, and factory operations teams to ensure high-quality products, and leveraging AI/ML automation to transform vast amounts of manufacturing data into actionable insights. This role requires a deep understanding of SoC architecture, strong programming skills, and experience in silicon bring-up and system-level validation. You will work on cutting-edge technologies that influence the reliability and performance of Apple's global semiconductor offerings, operating at the intersection of hardware, software, AI/ML, and high-volume manufacturing.
Develop System Level Test (SLT) programs for Apple SOCs from NPI to HVM.
Lead deployment of SLT methodologies at OSATs in collaboration with GSM teams.
Build robust, scalable test solutions ensuring product quality during mass production.
Utilize strong software and debugging skills to bring up new silicon in early stages.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, firmware, and factory operations.
What we're looking for
Strong background in SoC fundamentals including CPU/GPU pipelines, interconnects, memory hierarchy, cache coherency, boot flow, and power/clock domains.
Proficient in Python and at least one high-level language such as C++ or C#, with experience in writing production-quality code and building automation tools.
Experience in silicon bring-up, board-level debugging, firmware interaction, system-level validation, and factory test flows.
Ability to navigate from vague symptoms to root cause across hardware/software boundaries for critical thinking and problem-solving.
Hands-on exposure to LLMs, agentic frameworks, or AI-assisted engineering workflows preferred.
Collaborative skills with the ability to communicate clearly and partner effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
