This position solves complex integration challenges for high-performance computing by bridging on-chip protocols with off-chip standards to deliver competitive adaptive accelerators.

What you'll do

  • Drive SoC architecture with a focus on I/O subsystems connected over PCIe, UAL, and CXL.
  • Define I/O subsystem and PCIe DMA architectures including interactions with memory controllers and FPGA fabric.
  • Create flexible and modular I/O subsystem architectures for chiplet, monolithic, and 3D form factors.
  • Scope SoC requirements and analyze PPA tradeoffs to meet performance and schedule targets.
  • Define hardware, software, and firmware interactions between I/O subsystems and embedded processing units.
  • Author clear architecture specifications for the design and verification teams.
  • Guide pre-silicon design/verification and post-silicon validation during the execution phase.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical background architecting SoC and I/O subsystems.
  • Technical knowledge of PCIe protocol specifications and how features are leveraged in devices.
  • Knowledge of I/O subsystem and DMA interactions with internal embedded processor-subsystems (x86, RISC-V, or ARM) and external host CPUs.
  • Knowledge of bridging and ordering rule enforcement between on-chip protocols like AXI and off-chip protocols like PCIe.
  • Knowledge of ARM Processors and AXI Interconnects.
  • Knowledge of FPGA and AI/ML Accelerators.
  • Knowledge of boot, security, debug, telemetry, and RAS.
