TL;DR · Site Assessment Specialist

As a Site Assessment Specialist, you will join a team providing consulting services to deliver comprehensive facility assessments for mission-critical infrastructure. You will independently conduct Critical Environment Gap Assessments for data centers and critical facilities by performing visual, non-intrusive inspections of MEP systems. Your daily responsibilities include evaluating electrical power systems like UPS and generators, assessing cooling infrastructure, and identifying single points of failure or deferred maintenance. You will develop feasibility studies, manage project profitability, and author detailed technical reports including executive summaries and cost estimates. The role requires expertise in NFPA codes, Uptime Institute Tier Standards, and ASHRAE standards. Essential skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and DCIM platforms. You must possess a technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering to translate complex infrastructure findings into actionable business recommendations for client leadership teams.

What you'll do

  • Conduct visual, non-intrusive inspections of MEP systems for data centers and mission-critical facilities.
  • Evaluate electrical power, cooling infrastructure, fire suppression, and building automation systems for compliance and redundancy.
  • Identify infrastructure gaps, single points of failure, and deferred maintenance issues during site assessments.
  • Develop feasibility studies and phased implementation plans for equipment replacement and HVAC design.
  • Serve as the primary client contact to conduct stakeholder interviews and deliver findings presentations.
  • Generate technical proposals including scope definitions, deliverables, and Rough Order of Magnitude cost estimates.
  • Author comprehensive assessment reports featuring executive summaries, code compliance gaps, and prioritized recommendations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects by tracking hours, expenses, and profitability metrics to ensure on-time delivery.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience in critical facilities, data centers, or mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Expertise in electrical power systems, mechanical cooling systems, fire suppression, and building automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of Uptime Institute Tier Standards, NFPA codes, and data center design best practices.
  • Proven experience developing technical proposals, scope documents, and Rough Order of Magnitude cost estimates for capital projects.
  • Ability to manage project profitability, track budgets, and oversee multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex technical information to non-technical and executive audiences.
