The (USA) Systems and Infrastructure Engineer II joins the critical facilities team to manage and execute technical operations within a mission-critical data center environment. This role ensures the continuous availability, reliability, and efficiency of building management systems, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, utility plants, and HVAC systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include inspecting heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning equipment; managing water treatment chemicals; and overseeing electrical distribution including UPS systems, PDUs, and generators. The candidate will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on rotating equipment like pumps and motors while monitoring Energy Management Control Systems. Required expertise includes medium-voltage electrical distribution, mechanical systems, and building automation controls. Essential skills include vendor management, agile collaboration, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. The role requires knowledge of OSHA regulations and NFPA codes to maintain infrastructure performance within a structured professional environment.
Inspect and examine HVAC systems, chillers, air compressors, and heat exchangers to identify operational defects.
Manage electrical distribution and controls including UPS systems, PDUs, generators, and switchgear.
Monitor and update Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Control Systems.
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and replacements for rotating equipment like pumps and motors.
Manage water treatment chemicals for cooling towers and other critical facility systems.
Supervise vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality execution of electrical and mechanical projects.
Ensure infrastructure reliability by adhering to established safety standards and industry compliance frameworks.
What we're looking for
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or a related field.
Alternatively, candidates must have 3 years of experience in technology infrastructure engineering across compute, storage, network, mobility, or virtualization technologies.
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in medium-voltage electrical distribution, mechanical systems, building management, or vendor management.
Experience with utility plant systems and the ability to lead work on electrical and mechanical components is required.
Hands-on experience supervising vendors and contractors is required.
Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and operational safety standards is required.
Candidates must possess strong computer literacy and a grasp of Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations, NFPA codes, and industry compliance frameworks is required.
