Sensing HW Algorithm Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop advanced sensing algorithms and proof-of-concepts for future products.
• Perform algorithm prototyping, performance bounding, and validation using analytical modeling and ML methods.
• Characterize system performance using statistical signal processing and classical optimization techniques.
• Define specific sensor hardware and algorithm performance requirements for product deployment.
• Negotiate cross-functional requirements with Electrical Engineering and Firmware teams to ensure subsystem performance.
• Contribute to the development of software toolchains and methodologies used for algorithm development.
• Optimize algorithms for hardware constraints such as compute, memory, and power.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong background in image/signal processing, estimation/inference, or machine learning.
• Strong engineering math background including applied linear algebra and probability.
• Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Python or Matlab.
• Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, or Physics is preferred.
• Experience with ML frameworks and data processing packages like PyTorch, SciPy, pandas, or jax.
• Experience optimizing algorithms for hardware constraints such as compute, memory, and power.
• Ability to model complex cross-disciplinary systems and communicate effectively in writing and speech.
