JOB TITLE: Sensing HW Design Electrical Engineer The Sensing HW Design Electrical Engineer joins the Data Collection System team to develop prototype hardware systems essential for future products and features. This role involves creating high-performance hardware supporting Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Photography applications. You will propose and design electrical solutions, perform schematic capture for digital and analog circuits, and lead PCB layout reviews. Daily responsibilities include building proof-of-concept prototypes, executing bring-up and validation plans, debugging designs, and managing contract manufacturer interactions. Required expertise includes processor peripheral interfaces like PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, and power supply design, alongside Signal and Power Integrity knowledge. Preferred skills include experience with SOCs, microprocessors, FPGAs, and camera protocols such as MIPI, LVDS, SDI, DP, and HDMI to solve complex hardware integration problems.

What you'll do

Propose and design electrical engineering solutions to meet functional and performance objectives.
Perform schematic capture for digital and analog electrical circuits and systems.
Lead and review the PCB layout process for hardware designs.
Build proof-of-concept and initial prototype hardware systems.
Create and execute plans to bring up and validate designs for performance.
Debug and provide technical support for prototype designs.
Manage contract manufacturer interactions and support testing during system builds.

What we're looking for

BS degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
Experience in processor peripheral interfaces including PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, storage, and high-speed serial interfaces.
Experience in power supply design.
Strong working knowledge of Signal and Power Integrity and protocols for PCB layout and construction.
Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters.
Experience with SOCs, microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGAs, and camera electrical protocols (preferred).
Experience taking designs from concept through manufacturing, including mechanical assembly and validation (preferred).
