Sensing HW Algorithm Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop advanced sensing algorithms and proof-of-concepts for future products.
• Perform algorithm prototyping, performance bounding, and validation using analytical modeling and ML methods.
• Characterize system performance using statistical signal processing and optimization techniques.
• Define specific sensor hardware and algorithm performance requirements for product deployment.
• Negotiate cross-functional requirements with Electrical Engineering and Firmware teams to ensure subsystem performance.
• Contribute to the development of software toolchains and methodologies used for algorithm development.
• Analyze large datasets and develop data processing pipelines for sensing systems.
• Optimize algorithms for hardware constraints such as compute, memory, and power.

What we're looking for

• Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree.
• Strong background in image/signal processing, estimation/inference, or machine learning.
• Strong engineering math background including applied linear algebra and probability.
• Strong programming skills in high-level languages such as Python or Matlab.
• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, or Physics (preferred).
• Multi-disciplinary understanding of EE and Physics principles (preferred).
• Experience with analyzing large datasets, developing data processing pipelines, and using ML frameworks like PyTorch or SciPy (preferred).
• Experience with algorithm optimization for hardware constraints and system-level design of sensing systems (preferred).
