The Senior/Lead Software Engineer, Developer Productivity (AI Tooling) joins the AI Solutions team in Technology & Product to build internal platforms helping engineers adopt AI-assisted development safely and measurably. You will lead the technical design and delivery of full-stack capabilities, including backend APIs, data models, ingestion flows, dashboards, and desktop experiences. The role involves integrating AI coding tools with engineering systems to turn productivity ideas into reliable software. Key technologies and skills include React, TypeScript, Go, service APIs, event pipelines, analytics systems, and Kubernetes-based services. You must demonstrate an AI-first approach using tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, and Cursor. You will solve the business problem of establishing governance, telemetry, and shared system context to ensure AI agents operate reliably within human workflows.
Lead the technical design and delivery of complex capabilities across internal developer-productivity products and platforms.
Build backend APIs, data models, ingestion flows, and dashboards to connect AI tool usage to measurable outcomes.
Translate ambiguous requirements into design specifications, test strategies, and incremental delivery plans.
Establish operational standards by defining telemetry, SLIs, SLOs, and controlled rollout strategies.
Develop production-grade software using modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development workflows.
Design systems where AI agents integrate into human workflows to drive efficiency and innovation at scale.
Curate shared system context including designs, constraints, standards, and decision records for engineers and AI agents.
Raise team technical quality through design and code reviews, coaching, and pairing.
What we're looking for
6+ years of experience designing and building production software, including full-stack applications, backend services, developer tools, or internal platforms.
Strong programming skills across frontend, backend, APIs, data stores, and distributed system boundaries.
Experience translating ambiguous product requirements into design specifications, test strategies, and incremental delivery plans.
Demonstrated AI-first engineering approach using tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
Advanced prompt engineering skills to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate reliable system context.
Ability to explain designs to leadership, make technical tradeoffs, and lead complex work across teams.
A related technical degree is required.
Experience with React, TypeScript, Go, service APIs, event pipelines, or Kubernetes-based services (preferred).
