Senior Systems Engineer, Laser Integration & Applications (Advanced Substrates)

What you'll do

• Integrate commercial laser sources into automated processing tools for semiconductor manufacturing.
• Architect laser subsystems including beam delivery, optics, motion coordination, and safety integration.
• Define and optimize process windows for substrate marking, serialization, and laser-based separation.
• Tune laser parameters like pulse energy and scan speed to achieve high yield and minimal material damage.
• Drive end-to-end system optimization for motion systems, substrate handling, and vision alignment.
• Execute validation plans and lead root-cause analysis for laser processing field issues.
• Act as the laser subject-matter expert to support the integration and release of new tools.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Photonics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in laser applications, laser system integration, and automated precision manufacturing equipment.
• Hands-on experience integrating commercial laser systems into automated equipment.
• Strong understanding of laser–material interaction for brittle or transparent materials.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems.
• Experience with advanced transparent substrates (preferred).
• Experience with laser-based singulation methods such as ablation, grooving, or internal modification (preferred).
• Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical discipline (preferred).
