The Systems Engineering Lead manages a multidisciplinary team focused on developing advanced optical metrology and inspection systems for semiconductor manufacturing processes. This leadership role involves overseeing the entire product lifecycle, including architecture definition, requirement breakdown, prototype development, system integration, and manufacturing transfer. The successful candidate will lead technical brainstorming sessions, manage risk assessments, and coordinate with cross-functional teams across R&D, operations, and marketing to deliver high-performance products. Key responsibilities include performing trade-off analyses, managing OEM vendors, and ensuring compliance with ISO processes and SEMI standards. The role requires deep expertise in optics, physics, mechanics, electronics, algorithms, and software. Candidates must possess a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant technical field and have extensive experience in complex optical system integration, calibration, and troubleshooting to solve intricate problems within the semiconductor industry.
Lead a multidisciplinary team to develop advanced optical metrology and inspection systems.
Drive system architecture development, including requirement breakdown, trade-off analysis, and technical decision-making.
Translate customer and market requirements into robust system specifications and verification plans.
Oversee system integration, optical setup, alignment, calibration, and performance optimization.
Execute system characterization experiments, performance validation, and design verification testing.
Manage New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing transfer, and field deployment activities.
Manage multiple concurrent programs while tracking costs, schedules, technical performance, and quality.
Partner with OEM vendors to develop, qualify, and manage technical escalations for critical subsystems.
What we're looking for
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
10+ years of experience in complex optical system development, including optical metrology and inspection systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
3+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
Deep expertise in systems engineering processes including requirements management, system architecture, risk analysis, and verification methodologies.
Hands-on experience with optical system integration, alignment, calibration, and troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of cross-functional disciplines including optics, mechanics, electronics, software, controls, and algorithms.
Experience managing OEM vendors, suppliers, and external development partners.
Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
