Senior Systems Engineer, Data Center AI

What you'll do

• Develop AI/ML solutions to optimize inference performance, power efficiency, and scalability on Qualcomm hardware.
• Design, implement, and deploy Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) applications.
• Implement fine-tuning and distillation techniques for machine learning models.
• Research, simulate, and validate systems-level software, AI hardware, and deep learning algorithms.
• Perform AI model benchmarking and functional analysis to define system requirements and specifications.
• Propose deployment strategies including workload optimization and system-level design modifications.
• Triage system-level problems to determine root causes and present debugging results to the team.

What we're looking for

• Hold a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of experience, a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, or a PhD in a relevant field.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Possess a deep understanding of ML development, deployment, applications, system performance profiling, and parallel computing.
• Have a good understanding of GenAI architectures including transformers, diffusion, LLMs, LVMs, and embeddings (preferred).
• Have working experience with fine-tuning GenAI models and Reinforcement Learning (preferred).
• Possess a background in compiler optimizations for ML workloads (preferred).
• Have experience with architectural patterns for large-scale AI systems, including microservices and distributed systems (preferred).
• Have experience with automation tools like GitOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and ML lifecycle management tools (preferred).
