The Senior System Test and Automation Engineer joins the Research and Development team to support the development of MANET radios and wireless products for mission-critical applications. This role involves owning the design and execution of full coverage test procedures for novel wireless communication and sensing solutions. Key responsibilities include developing test plans, implementing test automation, performing troubleshooting, and designing logging and analysis tools to capture system performance. The engineer will maintain laboratory test setups, including wireless environment emulation equipment, and work with software teams to support new feature rollouts. Required skills include experience in embedded firmware development, scripting, C/C++, and Python. Candidates must understand radio frequency signal propagation, digital communication technologies, and operate lab instruments like signal generators and spectrum analyzers within an electronics manufacturing or R&D environment.
Design and execute full coverage test procedures for novel wireless communication and sensing solutions.
Define test plans and implement test automation to verify performance requirements and system behaviors.
Troubleshoot and qualify new designs in coordination with R&D system and software engineering teams.
Design and implement logging and analysis tools to capture performance of systems and test infrastructure.
Oversee the maintenance and performance of laboratory test setups and wireless environment emulation equipment.
Test and harden existing features through firmware and hardware changes in practical environments.
Perform demonstrations of MANET radios and other wireless products and technologies under development.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, specifically in system test and automation.
Demonstrated experience in embedded firmware development, testing, scripting, C/C++, and Python.
Demonstrated experience with wireless/networking in an electronics manufacturing or R&D environment.
Proven experience with lab instruments such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and wireless environment emulation equipment.
Proven experience with wireless and radio communication systems, radio frequency signal propagation principles, and digital communication technologies.
Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
Advanced degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (preferred).
