Senior Staff Software Engineer, Slack Front End Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve frontend performance, scalability, resiliency, and developer productivity.
• Design, maintain, and evolve core modules including WebSocket infrastructure, boot processes, and Redux/React layers.
• Drive key architectural decisions to adapt frontend infrastructure to evolving product and platform needs.
• Author code that establishes forward-looking patterns for use by multiple engineering teams.
• Represent and advocate for frontend technical strategy at an organizational level.
• Identify and resolve communication and alignment challenges across various teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical education to support long-term engineering success.

What we're looking for

• A related technical degree is required.
• Extensive experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in large-scale applications is required.
• Deep familiarity with browser performance profiling and debugging tools is required.
• Proficiency in React, Redux, and modern web technologies is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative and empathetic approach are required.
• Passion for mentorship, technical education, and knowledge sharing is required.
• Expertise in React/Redux optimizations, memory profiling, flame graph analysis, and tuning for production (preferred).
• Experience leading large-scale migrations, upgrades, or frontend modernization initiatives (preferred).
