JOB TITLE: Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering - System Safety The Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering - System Safety provides technical leadership for safety analyses across Airborne Solutions programs, including cockpit displays, mission processors, and sensors. This role involves performing hazard analysis, causal analysis, risk assessment, safety program planning, and reporting throughout the program lifecycle. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into system design, development, and verification activities. Key responsibilities include leading safety risk assessments at customer design review meetings and documenting artifacts in DOORS and Cameo. Required technical knowledge includes MIL-STD-882E, ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178, and DO-254 processes. Preferred skills include STAMP/STPA, FMEA, FMECA, FTA, FRACAS, and RCCA. The role addresses the technical challenge of ensuring hardware, software, and operational performance requirements meet rigorous safety standards.

What you'll do

Lead hazard analysis, causal analysis, and safety risk assessments according to MIL-STD-882E, ARP4754A, and ARP4761.
Develop System Safety Program Plans, Hazard Analyses, and Safety Assessment Reports.
Present system safety risk assessments and safety cases at customer design review meetings.
Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware, software, and operational performance requirements.
Work with Government customers to define and implement verifiable System Safety requirements.
Document System Safety artifacts using DOORS and/or Cameo software.
Prepare work estimates, schedule inputs, and metric data for project management.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain US Government clearance.
Active Secret Clearance (preferred).
Senior-level system safety and design experience in software, electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering (preferred).
Bachelor's degree in Systems, Software, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
U.S. citizens.
