L3Harris Communication Systems is seeking a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer to support the full lifecycle of advanced data link and SATCOM systems. This role involves supporting the team from concept development and capture through design, integration, verification, deployment, sustainment, and product phase-out. You will execute systems engineering activities including requirements development, architecture definition, interface management, and technical baseline development. Key responsibilities include managing requirements traceability, performing root-cause analysis, and contributing to trade studies for complex communications systems. Required skills include experience with hardware and software-intensive systems, requirements management, and technical documentation. Preferred qualifications include experience with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network testers, and Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies. The role addresses technical problems within military communications, specifically focusing on integrated SATCOM and line-of-sight solutions.
Execute systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle including requirements development, architecture definition, and integration.
Manage customer and derived requirements to ensure decomposition, traceability, change control, and verification closure.
Contribute to technical baseline development, trade studies, and architecture decisions for complex communications systems.
Develop and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, interface control documents, and test plans.
Support technical risk management, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning for performance and cybersecurity.
Partner with program leadership and customers to support technical planning, milestone reviews, and proposals.
Recommend improvements to systems engineering processes, tools, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
A minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Experience supporting complex systems engineering for integrated communications, SATCOM, or data link systems (preferred).
Experience in requirements management, system architecture, interface definition, integration, and verification for hardware and software-intensive systems (preferred).
Experience with lab test equipment, MBSE methodologies, and Type 1 encryption products (preferred).
