What you'll do

Design, develop, and test Flight Software (FSW) written in C++ within an embedded Linux environment.
Refactor existing software adaptors to accommodate multiple vendors of Space Vehicle Optical Communications Terminals.
Maintain the embedded Linux code baseline, DevOps pipelines, configuration management, and technical documentation.
Update integration and test procedures to ensure compatibility with new hardware components and larger software baselines.
Execute Formal Qualification Testing (FQT) based on refactored requirements for the OCT software adaptor.
Update Python scripts used for simulation and testing during integration and qualification phases.
Debug and troubleshoot software issues to optimize performance and memory usage.
Lead and mentor engineering teams while participating in code reviews to maintain high quality standards.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience, a graduate degree with 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
At least 4 years of experience in embedded software development using C/C++ with Object Oriented Design and Implementation.
Experience with embedded Linux, including modern software development APIs, network communications, and containerization.
Experience with software development tools such as compilers, debuggers, and version control systems like Git.
Experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams.
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies (preferred).
Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for testing and automation (preferred).
Security clearance.
