Senior Specialist, Software Engineering joins the Maritime Systems sector to solve complex technical problems involving power system architectures and power conversion equipment. This role provides technical leadership to a software developer team, overseeing all stages of product development from conceptual design through implementation and system integration. The individual will interpret customer specifications, manage Jira ticket-based workflows in Agile sprint or Kanban environments, and implement DevSecOp assisted automation. Key responsibilities include documenting products for highly regulated, safety-critical government contracts and improving engineering resource efficiency. Required technical skills include expertise in embedded real-time systems software design, C and C++ programming, and communication protocols like RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet. What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent and 6 years of experience in systems software design.
Master's degree and 4 years of related experience (preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
Expertise in embedded real-time systems software design.
Experience in embedded C and C++ programming.
Expertise with communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet.
