What you'll do

Lead validation efforts for diagnostic programming and vehicle communication workflows including DPS, SPS/SPS2, and VWP scenarios.
Develop and execute test plans and procedures to validate software functionality across vehicle, bench, and lab environments.
Investigate complex failures in communication protocols, ECU programming behavior, and gateway routing to perform root-cause analysis.
Analyze logs and traces from tools like Wireshark and CAN loggers to troubleshoot system interactions.
Validate new software releases through regression, stress, and performance-oriented test scenarios.
Support hardware-in-the-loop validation activities including flashing, power cycling, and UART/SSH access.
Define and expand automation strategies to improve release readiness and reduce defects in programming flows.
Create and maintain high-quality validation documentation including test reports, defect records, and scenario coverage.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional experience in software validation, software test engineering, or system-level software integration testing.
Hands-on experience validating software applications in automotive diagnostics, embedded systems, service programming, or vehicle communications domains (preferred).
Knowledge of vehicle serial data and communication protocols including CAN, UDS, DoIP, GMLAN, and SAE J1850.
Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java for automation or analysis.
Experience reading and analyzing communication logs and traces to troubleshoot complex software or programming issues.
Familiarity with GM tools like DPS, SPS/SPS2, GDS 2, and hardware-in-the-loop validation (preferred).
Hands-on experience with Wireshark, CANoe/CANalyzer, Lauterbach, or other debug and network-analysis tools (preferred).
