What you'll do

Build and improve novel ML systems using large-scale structured and unstructured data.
Productionize and operate AI/ML solutions and pipelines for both batch and real-time use cases.
Develop technical solutions to defend the platform against online and offline fraud.
Optimize performance and integrate ML models into core Airbnb products and business operations.
Build observability for AI systems including metrics, logging, tracing, and automated alerting.
Design high-volume data pipelines and scalable backend infrastructure for trust and safety features.
Mentor team members and foster a collaborative AI/ML culture within the organization.

What we're looking for

7+ years of industry experience in backend/platform engineering or equivalent.
BE/B.tech degree, preferably in CS, or an equivalent qualification.
Strong programming skills in Python or Java and solid data engineering foundations including DSA.
Understanding of ML best practices, algorithms (e.g., neural networks), and domains like NLP or computer vision.
Experience with at least three technologies from: Tensorflow, PyTorch, Kubernetes, Spark, Airflow/Kubeflow, Kafka, or Hive.
Experience building observability for AI systems including metrics, logging, tracing, and automated alerting.
Experience in large tech product companies solving real-world problems.
Experience in applied Machine Learning (preferred); experience building end-to-end ML infrastructure (preferred); experience in Trust and Risk domain (preferred).
