Senior Software Engineer, Middleware, Special Projects

What you'll do

• Design and implement daemons, frameworks, and system services to orchestrate AI components across distributed systems.
• Prototype and evolve systems that ensure deterministic, reproducible, and analyzable execution.
• Develop high-performance, developer-friendly frameworks in collaboration with UI and backend teams.
• Integrate new hardware technologies into Apple platforms by collaborating with embedded and infrastructure teams.
• Lead architecture and design reviews to ensure system clarity, reliability, and maintainability.
• Drive system-wide performance improvements through profiling, instrumentation, and robust diagnostic tools.
• Mentor peers and advocate for high-quality tooling to make complex systems debuggable.

What we're looking for

• Proficiency in Swift, C++, or Objective-C including the ability to read and write low-level code.
• Deep experience developing for Apple platforms with a strong understanding of runtime systems, performance models, and interprocess communication.
• Proven ability to design and deliver cross-layer solutions bridging hardware, system software, and higher-level frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to influence system-wide architectural decisions and drive alignment across cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to measuring and optimizing performance using profiling and instrumentation tools.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with real-time systems, robotics, hardware bring-up, distributed systems, or data orchestration (preferred).
