What you'll do

Design and build distributed microservices for inbound data processing, rule evaluation, and outbound distribution.
Own high-throughput Kafka event streaming pipelines with a focus on fault isolation and horizontal auto-scaling.
Develop and evolve a domain-agnostic rule execution engine for various supply chain domains.
Build and optimize data persistence and indexing layers using Cassandra, BigQuery, and search indexes.
Drive large-scale Apache Spark batch processing jobs to identify impacted entities across millions of records.
Implement simulation and sweep capabilities to assess business impact before deploying new rules.
Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, design brainstorming, testing, and code reviews.
Ensure platform reliability and observability through metrics, distributed tracing, and lag-based alerting.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 3 years of software engineering experience, or 5 years of software engineering experience.
5+ years of experience building production-grade, high-throughput distributed systems.
Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for RESTful microservices and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including producer/consumer patterns and lag monitoring.
Experience with Cassandra for data modeling and BigQuery for large-scale analytical queries.
Experience with Apache Spark for distributed batch processing and container orchestration like Kubernetes.
Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor in daily engineering workflows.
Experience with rule engines, observability tools, or supply chain domain concepts (preferred).
