What you'll do

Build and maintain highly available relational database systems across multiple cloud environments.
Design, modernize, and deliver database infrastructure using software development and automation principles.
Develop automation tools and scripts to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and security.
Implement infrastructure as code and configuration management to ensure scalability and disaster recovery.
Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and proactive capacity forecasting for database systems.
Provide observability through the creation of metrics, monitoring, and alerting systems.
Participate in live event support and a rotating on-call schedule.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical direction on database projects.

What we're looking for

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
5+ years of experience with relational database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Amazon RDS, and Aurora.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
Experience running, deploying, and maintaining production cloud infrastructure in AWS.
Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Knowledge of Linux operating systems, networking, and containers.
Experience with source control management tools like Git, GitLab, or GitHub.
Experience designing and deploying fault-tolerant, distributed, and highly available database infrastructure.
