Senior Software Engineer, Data

What you'll do

• Architect scalable, low-latency data pipelines for ingesting and serving personalized signals.
• Design and maintain robust pipelines for telemetry, product usage, and experimentation data.
• Manage orchestration, monitoring, and DevOps for critical data workflows.
• Design data models and APIs that enable Copilot to reason about user context and preferences.
• Build real-time and batch personalization engines to adapt Copilot's behavior.
• Ensure personalization features are safe and transparent by collaborating with privacy and security teams.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost across diverse workloads and geographies.
• Develop high-quality, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code for production environments.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline and 4+ years of engineering experience in Python, C#, or Java.
• Equivalent experience to a bachelor's degree and 4+ years of coding experience is acceptable.
• 3+ years of experience in OSS data technology such as Kafka, Spark, or Flink (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience building scalable services and securing infrastructure on cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP (preferred).
• Experience with large scale data systems (preferred).
• Experience working with AI platforms, frameworks, and APIs (preferred).
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues while ensuring performance and scalability (preferred).
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment (preferred).
