What you'll do

Manage the end-to-end boot path including firmware, UEFI, kernel images, and NixOS integration for all compute generations.
Ensure full hardware availability by configuring and validating every bus, peripheral, and network interface at boot.
Develop and maintain device trees based on hardware engineering specifications to ensure correct pin assignments and functionality.
Create and backport kernel, bootloader, and BSP patches when vendor code does not meet specific product requirements.
Act as the primary technical liaison to the platform team to resolve upstream issues and integrate new releases.
Maintain and security-patch deployed hardware across various lifecycle stages to ensure stability in the field.
Support new hardware bring-up by collaborating with electrical engineers to reach a production-ready state.
Debug complex hardware issues including intermittent bus errors, thermal faults, and boot hangs on fielded units.

What we're looking for

4+ years of professional software engineering in embedded Linux platform, board support, or kernel-adjacent integration.
Deep understanding of the embedded Linux boot chain including firmware, UEFI, kernel, initrd, and root filesystem mounting.
Proficiency in device tree fluency to read and modify DTS, DTSI, and overlays for custom hardware.
Ability to read, patch, and debug kernel and BSP source in C, plus proficiency in Rust or C++.
Practical knowledge of peripherals and buses including CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, USB, and Ethernet.
Experience debugging hardware using serial consoles, boot logs, dmesg, schematics, and datasheets.
US person status required with eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
NVIDIA Jetson experience, Nix/NixOS knowledge, secure boot experience, and Python skills (preferred).
