What you'll do

Own the shared NixOS overlay including system modules, compute platform definitions, and common tower services.
Manage the end-to-end tower network topology including VLAN allocation, bridging, and failover across heterogeneous backhauls.
Define and enforce integration contracts for business line teams to add network-attached payloads to the platform.
Consolidate legacy per-product configurations into a common, composable base with build-time checks.
Support and extend the real-time messaging layer during migration to the next-generation replacement.
Debug complex issues spanning the kernel, device tree, systemd unit ordering, Nix evaluation, and sensor daemons.

What we're looking for

4+ years of professional software engineering experience in Linux systems, embedded platforms, or infrastructure work.
Deep networking knowledge of VLANs, bridging, routing, DHCP, multicast, NAT, and firewalling.
Proficiency in using `ip`, `tcpdump`, and Wireshark to diagnose real traffic.
Experience with declarative configuration management and reproducible builds, specifically Nix or NixOS (preferred).
Experience with Bazel, Buildroot, Yocto, or infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi (preferred).
Proficiency in Rust or C++ to read and modify services.
Experience troubleshooting real hardware, including serial consoles, provisioning, reflashing, and remote debugging.
US person status with eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
