Senior Software Engineer, Capacity & Efficiency Engineering (CEE) - Planning joins the Capacity & Efficiency Engineering team to architect systems determining infrastructure needs, locations, and costs. You will design and build long-lasting components of the capacity planning stack, including resource demand-to-supply forecasting models, plan-of-record pipelines, and services that manage capacity and spend plans. The role involves solving complex problems regarding forecast accuracy, cost attribution, and data reconciliation across thousands of services. You will use Go, Java, or Python, along with SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing. The work involves managing large-scale distributed systems and data platforms across heterogeneous on-prem and multi-cloud infrastructure. You will lead multi-team projects, own production reliability, and translate ambiguous business requirements into technical roadmaps to ensure data correctness and infrastructure efficiency.

What we're looking for
6+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role.
Expertise in writing high-quality code in one or more languages such as Go, Java, or Python.
Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing to reconcile gaps between data sources and system architectures.
Experience leading cross-team engineering projects through all lifecycle stages including inception, stakeholder engagement, implementation, and operations.
Track record of owning production reliability, including leading incident response, running on-call rotations, and driving root-cause fixes.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with forecasting, optimization, or statistical modeling to drive financial decisions (preferred).
Domain experience in capacity planning, resource quotas, cloud cost management, or cost showback/chargeback systems (preferred).
