Senior Software Engineer, C++

What you'll do

• Write production-quality C++ and Python code for mission-critical systems and web applications.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and technical guidance.
• Shape the technical direction of a small team while remaining hands-on in design and implementation.
• Prototype state-of-the-art software solutions and guide them from initial prototype to tactical deployment.
• Use high-fidelity modeling and simulation environments to quantify the benefits of new technologies.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including navigating complex technical trade-offs and ambiguity.
• Lead technical interchange meetings, sprint planning, and customer engagements to ensure successful outcomes.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical leadership as a hands-on individual contributor.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with big data, NoSQL, and database technologies.
• Expertise in applied mathematics including differential equations, linear algebra, optimization, statistics, and random processes.
• Knowledge of engineering principles such as controls, estimation theory, and digital signal processing.
• Direct experience in air and missile defense domains (e.g., multi-target tracking, sensor fusion, or command-and-control systems).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
• Experience with asynchronous, parallel, and GPU programming (preferred).
• Prior experience deploying software to real-world tactical/edge environments (preferred).
