Senior Scientific Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Write production-quality C++ and Python code for mission-critical systems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming and technical guidance.
• Shape the technical direction of a small team while remaining hands-on in design and implementation.
• Prototype state-of-the-art software solutions and guide them toward tactical deployment.
• Implement high-performance software ranging from tactical systems to web applications.
• Use modeling, simulation environments, and analysis tools to quantify technology benefits.
• Lead technical meetings, sprint planning, and customer engagements for mission-critical needs.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership as a hands-on contributor.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and big data/NoSQL/database technologies.
• Experience with air and missile defense domains such as multi-target tracking, sensor fusion, or command-and-control systems.
• Expertise in applied mathematics (linear algebra, differential equations) and engineering (controls, estimation theory, digital signal processing).
• Ability to navigate large, complex codebases and manage the full software development lifecycle.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
