As a Senior Site Reliability Engineering- CTJ- Secret (Cleared Environments), you will join the Substrate team to lead reliability improvements across multiple services and components. You will act as a subject matter expert, solving complex cross-cutting operational problems while influencing service architecture and defining reliability strategies. Your daily responsibilities include participating in an on-call rotation as a Designated Responsible Individual, managing incident response, and designing automation for monitoring, alerting, debugging, and deployment to reduce toil. You will also conduct postmortems and ensure systems meet strict security, privacy, and accessibility standards. This role focuses on the technical challenge of maintaining high availability and performance for critical services operating in regulated, sovereign, or compliance-sensitive environments, specifically within government cloud environments including GCC Moderate, GCC High, and Department of Defense platforms.

What you'll do

Lead incident response and resolution as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in an on-call rotation.
Design and implement automation for monitoring, alerting, debugging, and deployment to reduce manual effort.
Develop and improve automated systems to streamline deployments across various environments.
Ensure all systems meet strict security, privacy, and accessibility standards for regulated environments.
Conduct postmortems and implement technical solutions to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
Influence service architecture and define reliability strategies for high-scale cloud infrastructure.
Partner with engineering and product teams to align system reliability with customer needs.

What we're looking for

A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 2+ years of technical experience.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 4+ years of technical experience.
Equivalent experience to the specified educational and experience requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 background investigation for GCCH and DoD environments.
Ability to meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) eligibility requirements for GCCM environments.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
Preferred: A Doctorate degree with 3+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
