As part of the Windows Cloud Experiences Sovereign team within the Microsoft Sovereign Cloud organization, the Site Reliability Engineering- CTJ- Poly role focuses on maintaining Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop infrastructure. You will perform core SRE duties including improving service reliability, enhancing monitoring and alerting, participating in incident response rotations, and building automation to reduce operational toil. Day-to-day responsibilities involve troubleshooting issues affecting availability and performance, managing production changes through safe deployment processes, and collaborating with engineering teams on code and design reviews. The role requires proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. This position addresses the technical challenge of providing secure, high-quality remote computing experiences for customers operating in highly regulated environments that require robust, resilient, and manageable cloud infrastructure.
Respond to incidents during on-call rotations by troubleshooting issues and deploying fixes to resolve root causes.
Identify and mitigate impacts of service failures while escalating complex issues to appropriate engineering teams.
Use existing tools and automation to troubleshoot problems affecting availability, security, reliability, and performance.
Manage changes in production using established deployment processes and automated tools.
Contribute to improvements in product observability, quality, and efficiency through code and design reviews.
Analyze telemetry data to propose technical improvements for specific product components and features.
Participate in post-mortem meetings to document incident details and contribute to long-term resolution strategies.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
At least 2 years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements.
Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
Verification of U.S. citizenship is required due to legal restrictions for supporting government agency customers.
