Senior Site Reliability Engineer

What you'll do

• Manage the full service lifecycle from initial design and capacity planning through deployment and operation.
• Monitor and measure system availability, latency, and overall health to ensure high reliability.
• Design and enhance deployment automation using Chef recipes and cookbooks.
• Orchestrate CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to integrate tools like Sonar, Maven, and Artifactory.
• Implement Git-based code management strategies to support parallel deployments across multiple environments.
• Lead incident response efforts and conduct blameless postmortems to optimize mean time to recover.
• Automate routine tasks and provide feedback to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency concerns.

What we're looking for

• BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
• Experience designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow from development to production with minimal manual effort.
• Experience with industry standard CI/CD tools including Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
• Proven experience writing Chef recipes/cookbooks and designing Chef-based release and deployment processes.
• Experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby (preferred).
• Experience with automation for branch management, code promotions, and version management (preferred).
• Experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
