The Senior Security Solution Engineer joins the Defense Industrial Base team to support defense, aerospace, intelligence, and critical infrastructure organizations. This role focuses on helping customers transition through secure adoption of cloud, data, and AI technologies while navigating complex regulatory environments like CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, and FedRAMP. You will develop account-level security strategies, lead architecture discussions, and conduct technical validations to drive measurable outcomes in risk reduction and mission readiness. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding customers on AI governance, identity for agents, and data protection while managing the deployment of tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Entra, Purview, Security Copilot, and Azure security services. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in Zero Trust, endpoint security, and cloud architecture to translate complex technical requirements into actionable roadmaps for high-stakes government and national security customers.
Develop and execute account-level security technical strategies aligned to customer priorities, regulatory obligations, and AI ambitions.
Lead discovery, architecture discussions, solution designs, demonstrations, and technical validation activities for major accounts.
Guide customers on AI security posture, data protection, and governance to ensure responsible AI adoption.
Define and influence customer decision criteria, success measures, and long-term security roadmaps.
Identify technical risks early and coordinate the necessary resources and actions to resolve them.
Deploy and operationalize Microsoft security products including Sentinel, Defender, Entra, Purview, and Security Copilot.
Translate complex technical engagements into clear recommendations and measurable improvements in security operations and risk reduction.
Serve as a technical continuity leader from initial strategy through deployment and value realization.
What we're looking for
Must have a Master's degree plus 3 years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 4+ years of experience.
Equivalent professional experience to the specified education and experience requirements is acceptable.
Must be able to successfully pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening.
Must be a U.S. citizen as verified by a valid passport or other approved documents.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a United States Security Clearance.
Demonstrated expertise in security operations, identity management, data security, endpoint security, cloud security, AI security, Zero Trust, or enterprise architecture (preferred).
Ability to communicate technical strategy and risk clearly to both senior executives and technical practitioners (preferred).
Experience with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, FedRAMP, GCC High, or relevant industry certifications like CISSP, CCSP, CISM, GIAC (preferred).
