The Senior Scrum Master joins the Refining IT aligned Digital Product Delivery Services group to drive digital transformation across the refining organization. Serving as a servant leader and coach, this individual facilitates team events, manages project iterations, and removes impediments for agile teams. The role involves collaborating with Product Owners on backlog health and story mapping while coordinating with Release Train Engineers and external vendors during Program Increment planning. Key responsibilities include implementing DevSecOps practices, promoting behavior-driven development, and fostering continuous improvement through automation and workflow optimization. Required skills include Agile methodology, conflict resolution, data analysis, risk management, and experience with the Software Development Life Cycle. The role focuses on solving complex technical challenges within the refining sector by ensuring teams deliver high-quality software and maintain alignment with broader organizational objectives through disciplined Scrum or Kanban practices.
Facilitate Scrum and Kanban events to ensure team alignment and remove delivery impediments.
Coach Product Owners on backlog health, story mapping, and advanced feature development.
Coordinate with Release Train Engineers and external vendors to manage cross-team dependencies during planning.
Implement automation and processes to improve adherence to DevSecOps and Agile governance.
Drive core Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
Identify and resolve project risks while ensuring teams meet their delivery commitments.
Develop and deliver training on Agile best practices for the broader organization.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another computer-related field.
Five or more years of relevant Scrum Master experience.
Proficiency in Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
Strong communication skills to express ideas clearly and foster constructive dialogue.
Ability to manage conflict and resolve issues while navigating competing priorities.
Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage diverse work groups to achieve goals.
Skills in data analysis, risk management, and workflow optimization.
