JOB TITLE: Senior SCADA Controls Engineer, Manufacturing Automation The Manufacturing Automation team is seeking a Senior SCADA Controls Engineer to design, integrate, and deploy automated manufacturing systems across factories. In this role, you will architect structured, reusable SCADA applications, design functional HMIs, and enforce internal standards for high-volume manufacturing. You will integrate internal and external software into production lines while leading root cause analysis for automation failures. The position requires proficiency in Ignition by Inductive Automation, Python, and HTML, alongside a strong understanding of PLC base control systems and protocols including Rest API, MQTT, AMQP, OPC UA, Modbus, and BACnet. Candidates should possess an Ignition Gold Certification and experience with MES applications. This role solves technical challenges in production automation by ensuring long-term reliability and reducing downtime within a manufacturing environment.

What you'll do

Design functional HMIs and SCADA screens using Ignition by Inductive Automation.
Architect structured, documented, and reusable SCADA applications for high-volume manufacturing.
Generate and enforce internal standards for all SCADA systems.
Integrate internal and external manufacturing software into production lines and automation equipment.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures to ensure reliability.
Troubleshoot SCADA issues with cross-functional teams to reduce downtime and drive continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.
Must be US security clearance eligible.
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent and relevant experience.
6+ years of experience in SCADA and MES applications.
Proficient in Ignition by Inductive Automation and Ignition Gold Certification.
Proficient in higher level languages like Python and HTML.
Strong understanding of communications protocols like Rest API, MQTT, AMQP, OPC UA, Modbus and BACnet.
Knowledge and understanding of PLC base control systems.
AWS infrastructure understanding (preferred).
Understanding of network hardening protocols (preferred).
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (preferred).
