Senior Rust Software Developer

What you'll do

• Lead the adoption of Rust and associated design patterns across multiple product lines.
• Manage the integration and conversion of legacy software from C/C++ to Rust.
• Provide architectural guidance and best practices for memory-safe Rust programming.
• Translate complex requirements into maintainable software solutions for C5 and Cyber centers.
• Develop embedded software applications using Rust, C/C++, and Python.
• Conduct root cause analysis to resolve complex technical issues independently or with a team.
• Create software test plans, procedures, and relevant technical documentation.
• Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair software defects.

What we're looking for

• U.S. citizenship and an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance are required.
• A Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience, a Graduate degree and 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without a degree.
• At least 3 years of experience developing Rust software for production systems with a deep understanding of the language.
• Experience with C/C++ development.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience converting C/C++ code to Rust (preferred).
• Experience developing Rust software or general embedded systems (preferred).
• Experience with object-oriented design, UML tools, device drivers, cryptography, or specific certifications like NSA Type 1 or DO-178 (preferred).
