The Senior QA Automation Engineer joins the Customer Validation Testing team to support the qualification and automation of influential technologies and XR platforms for high-end Web and Service Provider customers. In this role, you will design, automate, and configure customer use cases based on IOS-XR for platforms including ASR9K, NCS5500, and 8000. Daily responsibilities involve generating test plans, developing innovative test frameworks, and building web-based GUIs using analytics and machine learning. You will drive test cases manually and through automation while tracking defects. Required skills include Python programming, L2/L3 networking protocols like BGP, MPLS, and IPv6, and experience with tools such as pyATS, Ansible, Jenkins, and Robot framework. You will solve complex networking problems within UNIX/Linux environments using Bash scripting.

What you'll do

  • Design, automate, and configure customer use cases based on IOS-XR platforms.
  • Generate test plans and prioritize tasks based on specific customer demands.
  • Develop innovative test frameworks and tools to support the test execution environment.
  • Create web-based GUIs using analytics and machine learning to analyze execution results.
  • Execute test cases manually and through automation while tracking and verifying defects.
  • Proactively improve test coverage, execution, and automation to optimize performance.
  • Reproduce customer issues in internal test labs and generate corresponding test executions.
  • Validate customer use cases by collaborating with development teams and account teams.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's in STEM with 7+ years of relevant experience or Master's in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of programming experience with Python.
  • Networking domain experience with L2 or L3 protocols such as ISIS, BGP, MPLS, IPv6, GRE, MPLS-TE, LDP, RSVP, Segment routing, L2VPN, L3VPN, and EVPN.
  • Experience in networking automation and software quality assurance.
  • Certificate in CCIE (Routing & Switching / Service Provider / Data Center) (preferred).
  • Experience on platforms such as ASR9K, NCS5500, NCS5000, NCS540/NCS560, NCS6K, CRS, and 8000 (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience with RDMA technologies and related protocols such as InfiniBand, RoCE, or iWARP (preferred).
  • Experience with OpenFlow, Netconf, REST API, pyATS, Ansible, Jenkins, Robot framework, Cisco NSO, and UNIX/Linux environments (preferred).
