As a Senior QA Automation Engineer on the Customer Validation Testing team, you will design, automate, configure, and qualify customer use cases based on IOS-XR for platforms such as ASR9K, NCS5500, and 8000. You will develop innovative test frameworks, tools, and web-based GUIs utilizing analytics and machine learning to analyze execution results while managing defect tracking and performance optimization. The role requires expertise in Python programming and L2/L3 networking protocols including BGP, MPLS, ISIS, IPv6, and Segment routing. Key technologies include Git, Jira, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, pyATS, Pytest, Ansible, Robot, and monitoring tools like Grafana and Elasticsearch. You will also work with traffic generators like Ixia and Spirent, while utilizing network programmability protocols such as gNMI, gRPC, NETCONF, YANG, and REST APIs within Linux environments involving Docker and Kubernetes.

What you'll do

  • Design, automate, configure, and qualify customer use cases based on IOS-XR platforms.
  • Create test plans and prioritize tasks dynamically based on specific customer demands.
  • Develop innovative test frameworks and tools to support the execution environment.
  • Build web-based GUIs that utilize analytics and machine learning to display and analyze results.
  • Execute test cases manually and through automation while tracking and verifying defects.
  • Proactively improve test coverage, execution, and automation to optimize performance and configuration.
  • Reproduce customer issues in internal labs and generate corresponding test executions.
  • Collaborate with development teams and customers to validate specific use cases.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's in STEM with 7+ years of experience or Master's in STEM with 5+ years of experience.
  • At least 3 years of programming experience with Python.
  • Experience in networking domain working with L2 or L3 protocols such as ISIS, BGP, MPLS, IPv6, GRE, and Segment routing.
  • Experience in networking automation or software quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience with GIT, Jira, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipeline tools (preferred).
  • Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or Cisco DevNet (preferred).
  • Experience with network automation frameworks like pyATS, Pytest, Ansible, and Robot (preferred).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools, traffic generators, and programmability protocols like gNMI, gRPC, NETCONF, YANG, and REST APIs (preferred).
