Senior Propulsion Engineer, Space

What you'll do

• Design and manage chemical, electric, and hybrid propulsion subsystems for spacecraft across various orbital regimes.
• Own delta-V budgets and perform propulsion subsystem sizing to meet specific mission requirements.
• Develop test plans and procedures for ground checkout, on-orbit calibration, and commissioning of propulsion systems.
• Create fueling plans and procedures for implemented propulsion systems.
• Develop software-defined approaches for autonomous spacecraft operations and maneuvering capabilities.
• Manage propulsion vendors to ensure successful delivery against technical and mission requirements.
• Coordinate with government agencies to secure necessary licenses for transporting fueled or pressurized containers.
• Support ground testing, launch windows, and on-orbit operations for the spacecraft fleet.

What we're looking for

• Strong engineering background in fields such as Aerospace Engineering or Orbital Mechanics.
• Experience with chemical, electrical, and hybrid propulsion sub-system design for spacecraft.
• Experience managing propulsion vendors to meet mission and sub-system requirements.
• Experience conducting spacecraft operations and satellite command and control with a focus on reliability.
• Experience with orbital mechanics and resident space object tracking capabilities.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
