Senior Product Software Engineer, Golang

What you'll do

• Own complex technical initiatives from initial design through production deployment and operational excellence.
• Set the architectural direction for backend distribution APIs to ensure high availability and low latency at scale.
• Translate business requirements from product, editorial, and engineering stakeholders into robust technical solutions.
• Prioritize technical workstreams to deliver high-impact outcomes while proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
• Champion engineering best practices including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and incident response.
• Establish standards for operational excellence such as monitoring, alerting, and post-incident analysis.
• Perform thorough code reviews to uphold high standards of technical rigor and maintainability.
• Mentor and coach engineers to foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field of study.
• 5+ years of experience building and operating highly available, distributed backend systems in production environments.
• Strong experience designing and developing large-scale backend services using Golang (preferred) and/or Java.
• Experience deploying and scaling services within cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Deep understanding of caching technologies such as Redis, Memcached, or similar.
• Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to inspire and empower a team.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems (e.g., Git, GitLab, Jenkins), and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
